Narrating the rich history of iconic highway 61 along Minnesota’s North Shore from Duluth to the Canadian border. Alanen explores the material world built along the way. He was born, raised, and educated in Minnesota and is professor emeritus of planning and landscape architecture at the University of Wisconsin- Madison.
