The Lake County Historical Society was established in 1925 to “collect, preserve and disseminate information about the County of Lake and Surrounding environs.” Mr. Owens, a pioneer railroader in the area, was elected first President of the Society by the eighteen (18) charter members.
Offering a variety of books, gifts, and toys you will find a little something to remember the North Shore. Proceeds from the museum store support the Lake County Historical Society’s mission to collect, preserve, and share the stories of Lake County, Minnesota.

The mission of the Lake County Historical Society is to preserve the history of Lake County, Minnesota through the preservation, study and interpretation of artifacts, documents, photographs and historic sites and to tell the story of our past and present culture.
