POSTPONED Depot at Dusk Featuring MorningBird & The Trinkets

July 15 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Due to the extreme levels of smoke this evening’s Depot at Dusk will be postponed to a later date. We are currently coordinating with artists to find the best time to re-schedule. The Depot museum will remain open normal operating hours 10 AM to 5 PM today. Our hearts go out to those impacted by the wildfires and appreciation for the strength and courage for those fighting the fires across the Superior National Forest. We hope to gather again soon. Stay safe everyone.

Every third Wednesday during the months of June, July, and August enjoy a free community concert on the iconic Two Harbors Depot Platform. With food and drink for sale by Harbor Rail Pub and free admission to the Two Harbors Depot Museum starting at 5PM, enjoy gathering with friends and family next to Lake Superior’s Agate Bay. Sponsored in part by Lovein’ Lake County. July concert features MorningBird with opening band the Trinkets.

Morningbird is a powerhouse quartet (sometimes trio) with an eclectic vibe. Multi-instrumentalists Jill Burkes (vocals, violin, guitar) and Josh Palmi (vocals, guitar) bring a rare chemistry to their performances. Supplemented by Shane Kingsland on Bass and Jim Pietila on Percussion, the band creates a seamless fusion of folk, rock & country stylings. Rooted in an authenticity that is both grounded and free spirited, their music has been described by critics as folk-Americana, sometimes offering a gospel edge or Appalachian harmonic structure.  The group is string driven, performing traditional & original songs. https://morningbirdsings.com/

“They’re musicians from the Iron Range of Minnesota & right from the start their style’s a refreshingly modernized throwback to duos & groups of the 60s and early 70s that carved out the more acoustic folk-storytelling songbook.”
-Americana Highways

“There’s driving passion to their songs and the intertwinging vocals simply shine.”
-Americana UK

The Trinkets Opening Band

The Trinkets are an indie-pop rock band from Duluth, founded by Elsie Zimmerman on vocals and guitar and April Dressel on drums. They’re inspired by the music of their parents’ generation, like Green Day, Weezer, Nirvana, and Radiohead, but they are also students of modern artists such as Chapell Roan, Billie Eilish, and Clairo. Although they are a new band, The Trinkets have played shows around Duluth at places like Bent Paddle, Zeitgeist Arts, and the Homegrown Music Festival and they have been featured in the Twin Ports “On the Record” zine and on Good Morning Northland. The Trinkets recently released their debut EP Split, available now on Bandcamp and YouTube.
