Centennial Celebration & Beacon Relighting

On July 4th, the iconic sweep and signature of the Two Harbors Lighthouse will return to the shoreline of Agate Bay to great fanfare. Family friendly activities will center around the historic Two Harbors Depot and tours of the Agate Bay Lighthouse will be given throughout the day. The evening will conclude with the music of GB Leighton and the Two Harbors Ukulele Group (THUG) followed by the relighting of the new lighthouse beacon and fireworks. This event is sponsored by Lovein’ Lake County.
10AM to 4PM Roosevelt’s Camp @ Depot Lawn

10AM to 3PM Education Stations @ Depot Platform
Test your knowledge at train trivia with the Lake Superior Railroad Museum and explore how Fresnel Lenses work on the Depot Platform.

10AM to 5PM Lighthouse B&B and Museum Open House
Lighthouse Museum and Bed & Breakfast are open with free admission to the site. Learn about the history of the lighthouse and see the original Fresnel lens in the historic Lighthouse Keeper’s Quarters. Last admission to Lighthouse site is 4:30 PM.
6 to 8PM Hayes Scriven Artist Reception @ Depot Gallery
In celebration of the second instillation of Photography at the Depot, join Hayes Scriven in the Depot Gallery to celebrate the opening of his photography exhibition. Scriven is a North Shore photographer with a passion for capturing the beauty of Lake Superior and its surrounding landscapes. Since 2019, he’s been immersing himself in the art of photography, focusing on landscapes and astrophotography. His images of the Milky Way and Northern Lights have earned recognition have been featured in various regional magazines, newspapers, and websites. His work will be on display through August 31st.

Enjoy dinner and drinks with a view! Concerts will start at 6:45 and run through 10:00 PM. Last call at the bar will be at 9:30 PM.
6:45 PM THUGS @ Depot Stage
Bring your own chair to enjoy a free outdoor concert by the Two Harbors Ukulele Group! Overlooking the ore docks at Agate Bay.
8 PM Centennial Remarks @ Depot Stage
Help Lake County Historical Society commemorate it’s Centennial and monumental community effort to relight the Iconic Two Harbors Beacon which will once again light up the sky right before the traditional Two Harbors Fireworks.
8:30 PM GB Leighton @ Depot Stage
GB Leighton will close out the live concert series followed by the beacon relighting and traditional Two Harbors Firework Display.
