Open House at the Two Harbors Light Station
The Open House at the Two Harbors Light Station is the final requirement of our Short Term Action Grant from the Department of Natural Resources funded through the NOAA. The event will be our official opening of the new exhibits at the Light Station Museum. The museum will be free and open to all with hot dogs, pop and snacks available. We will also be touring people throught the actual Keepers living quaters that make up the bed & breakfast, this seldom happens as we try to protect the privacy of our guests.

Harvest Moon Celebration
The Harvest Moon Celebration takes place on the shore of Lake Superior's Agate Bay at the break wall (breakwater). It features music, pie and coffee or hot chocolate, and astronomers with telescopes to share. The times are around 6 to ? .

October 14, 2010

Annual Membership Dinner
All Lake County Historical Society members are invited to our annual meeting and dinner. The event will be held at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 602 4th Avenue, in Two Harbors Thursday October 14 2010. Social time at 5:30 with dinner at 6 PM.  A year end review of the organization will be presented by Mel Sando. The nomination and election of new officers will follow. Our keynote speaker will be Todd Lindahl with his new power point presentation on the Yellowstaone Mallet Locomotive. Dinner will be $20.00 per person. Please call 218.834.4898 to RSVP by Oct. 4.

Gales of November
As part of the Lake Superior Maritime Museum Association Gales of November event at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center, Lake County Historical Society Director Mel Sando will be presenting a power point presentation on the history of the industrial developments at Agate Bay in Two Harbors. Times TBA.

Winter Solstice at the Two Harbors Light Station
Join us for a good old fashion evening of pagan merryment including a bonfire, astrologers, historians, music (including a drum circle) and refreshments on the shore of Lake Superior's Agate Bay in Two Harbors. Festivities usually begin at sundown (4:30 PM) and close around 7:30 PM
